China will further promote early screening, early diagnosis and early treatment of cancer.

CCTV News:The reporter learned from the recent World Cancer Screening Conference that China will further promote early cancer screening, early diagnosis and early treatment, and build a hierarchical cancer screening system. By 2030, the overall five-year survival rate of cancer will reach 46.6%, and the disease burden of patients will be effectively controlled.

At present, China has basically established a three-level comprehensive cancer prevention and control network at the national, provincial and municipal levels, and the relevant state departments have improved a series of technical guidelines for screening, early diagnosis and early treatment for key cancers such as gastric cancer, colorectal cancer and lung cancer with high incidence and relatively mature screening methods and technical schemes, and promoted and applied them throughout the country. The focus of the next stage is to strengthen the long-term mechanism of early diagnosis and treatment of cancer and screening, and gradually expand the coverage of screening and early diagnosis and treatment for cancers with high incidence, cost-effectiveness of early treatment and simple screening methods in the region.

Tian Yantao, Chairman of the Popular Science Committee of China Anti-Cancer Association:For example, tumors of stomach, esophagus and colorectal account for more than half of the incidence of the whole tumor, and digestive tract tumors are caused by long-term bad living habits. We should find and deal with some early precancerous lesions or early cancers in time. On the other hand, it is of great significance to let these high-risk groups or patients change their lifestyles from now on.

Experts say that many patients come to see a doctor when symptoms appear in clinic, but in fact, the disease has developed to the middle and late stage, which is not only difficult and expensive to treat, but also ineffective. China will further strengthen the standardized management of anti-cancer physical examination, guide high-risk groups to receive regular anti-cancer physical examination, and timely intervene in early cancer or precancerous lesions.

Fan Daiming, Academician of China Academy of Engineering and Chairman of China Anti-Cancer Association:Because 1/3 of tumors can be cancer-free through prevention, 1/3 of tumors can be cured at an early stage through screening, and 2/3 can be solved. Therefore, the state has gradually given high support to several important cancers, such as lung cancer, such as digestive tract tumors, and now the screening should be more and more extensive, including more and more cancer species. I think, in the near future, it will show the role of screening.
