At 20 o’clock on May 29th, Wei received a strange call. The other party claimed to be Tik Tok Million Guarantee Customer Service, saying that the free experience of Million Guarantee Service ordered by Wei in Tik Tok was about to expire, and then he needed to renew his subscription and asked Wei if he would renew it. If not, he would cancel it, otherwise the fee would be automatically deducted. Wei was not impressed that he had ordered Tik Tok Million Guarantee Service, but the other party said that it might be a mistake, so he asked Wei to add an enterprise WeChat. The WeChat staff claimed to be the enterprise WeChat of Tik Tok Million Guarantee Customer Service, and asked Wei again if he needed to cancel the service. Wei told him to cancel it. At that time, Wei and the telephone customer service were still on the phone. The telephone customer service asked Wei to send a link to WeChat customer service, and then WeChat customer service downloaded a mobile phone software called "NewDeske Remote Control" in the linked website and asked Wei to download it, and in order to dispel Wei’s doubts, Wei was specially asked to conduct personnel inspection in the linked website, which displayed the name, position and professional license number of the customer service. After checking, Wei dispelled his worries, opened the remote control software according to the other party’s requirements, and opened mobile banking, Alipay and WeChat, and then found another customer service in the website to cancel the order. Another customer service note in the website was China PICC Customer Service, which asked Wei to use the mobile banking of China Construction Bank to transfer 181,181 yuan to his account and click the "No" option to return the transfer and cancel the service order, but Wei did not see "No" after the transfer. After asking the customer service, I was told that I couldn’t get a refund or cancel the order because I didn’t click the "No" option, and asked Wei to transfer another 181,181 yuan before clicking the "No" option. Wei Mou transferred the money again as required, but it still showed that the transaction was successful, and he still didn’t see the "No" option. At this time, the customer service asked Wei Mou to transfer the money on his other bank card to CCB before transferring it. Wei Mou realized that he had been cheated and called the police. He transferred money to the other party twice, with a total loss of 362,362 yuan.

Recently, the number of fraudsters pretending to be "million-guarantee customer service" on major platforms has gradually increased. Most fraudsters contact the victims by telephone, and falsely claim that the "million-guarantee service" of the victims on a certain platform has expired, and they need to pay for renewal, otherwise the fees will be automatically deducted and even the credit information will be affected. In order to gain the trust of the victim, the fraudster will let the victim open the WeChat "Million Guarantees" to check that it is really open, or use the fake website to gain the trust of the victim, and let the victim transfer the money to the designated account as a "deposit" and promise to refund all the transfers, thus committing fraud.

02

The "Million Guarantees" in WeChat Payment is jointly underwritten by Tenpay and PICC P&C Insurance Company of China, which is used to ensure the safety of users’ funds. This guarantee is enabled by default, and this function will not "expire" or "expire", and it will not require renewal fees, and it will not affect credit information. Whenever you receive a strange phone call or encounter a similar situation, you should keep a clear head, be vigilant when it comes to operations such as transfer, and don’t contact the customer service privately without official channels.
