On January 8th, the space-time electric "Blue Avenue" plan landed in jinniu district, Chengdu. In the next five years, 30,000 new energy vehicles will be launched in Chengdu, and Chengdu will be used as the center of the western region to radiate the whole western region.

So far, space-time electric has been deployed in 12 cities including Hangzhou, Suzhou and Changsha. Geng Qinghua, senior director of Time and Space Electric, told Titanium Media that these models are mainly used in the field of express trains. The power exchange mode has always been called a typical heavy capital investment, and the key to ensure the profitability of the power exchange mode is the order volume and frequency of use. It is not difficult to understand why Space-time Electric has locked its target market in the field of network car rental, thus rapidly expanding the market coverage through the "Blue Avenue" plan.

In April 2017, Space-Time Electric launched the "Blue Avenue" plan with the combination of power exchange and network car rental.

In the existing electric vehicles, the charging pile mode usually exists, while the space-time electric vehicle adopts the power exchange mode. According to the titanium media, the owner can directly replace the battery with the help of the mechanical arm at a fixed place, and can travel after 3-5 minutes. Space-time Electric hopes to build a nationwide power exchange network in the next five years through the "Blue Avenue" plan, and promote 250,000 pure electric vehicles under this support, so as to promote its commercial map.

It is understood that the implementation of "Blue Avenue" is based on the long-term cooperation between Time and Space Electric and Didi, and the two sides have established a joint venture company "Didi Shi" to promote the transformation of platform vehicles into new energy vehicles.

In terms of industry, Space-Time Electric has also cooperated with Dongfeng Motor to launch customized battery-changing models.

For example, the two sides jointly built a five-door, four-seat Dongfeng ER30, which is equipped with space-time power self-produced battery packs and has a driving range of up to 300 kilometers. In the charging mode, Dongfeng ER30 can choose 220V household charging, and can also choose to complete rapid power exchange in the space-time power self-operated charging and replacing station. At present, in Hangzhou, Time and Space Electric has put more than 1,000 Dongfeng ER30 vehicles into the car market of Didi Platform.

In addition, for the power exchange mode, space-time electric has also laid a good foundation, and it has designed the battery PACK in a targeted manner. In a space-time electric car, a battery consists of 1098 cells, which is similar in structure to Tesla, except that,The batteries are filled with a special glue, which is a glue-filling packaging technology developed by Space-time Electric. The reason is similar to that: the batteries are wrapped in a big jelly, which blocks oxygen. When the batteries meet fire, they will only explode in the box and cannot burn. When the battery is hit, the glue filling technology plays a role in buffering the batteries, and the batteries will not hit each other.

In terms of battery recycling, Space-Time Electric has also made a customized design, said Chen Feng, CEO of Space-Time Electric.

"Space-time PACK itself is a standardized design, and recycling has been considered at the beginning of the design. After recycling, it is mainly to complete the cascade utilization, and the first direction of our cascade utilization design is the utilization of low-speed vehicles; After the low-speed car is used, it can be recycled as the energy of thermal power plant; After the thermal power plant is fully utilized, the materials will be recycled. Because our PACK is universal and standard, and the mode design of mobile power grid makes our battery recycling cost very low. Therefore, in terms of battery recycling, it is very beneficial to adopt the battery exchange mode. "

Although new energy vehicles are operated on the Didi platform, there is no targeted entrance, that is, in terms of pricing, the standards of new energy vehicles and fuel vehicles are consistent. Based on the mileage of 5 kilometers per kilowatt-hour, the electricity consumption cost per kilometer is about that of 0.2 yuan, while the fuel consumption cost is about that of 0.6 yuan.

This means that the network car driver who adopts new energy vehicles will greatly reduce the income cost, and with the help of space-time electric power station change, the network car driver can avoid the worry of insufficient battery life. So how much space is there for the transformation of new energy vehicles?

According to the data released by Didi, there were nearly 20 million vehicles on the platform in January 2017. If the proportion of operating vehicles (including taxis and network cars) is 10% per year, it is the conversion order of 2 million vehicles. So what is the profit point of space-time electric?

According to Ma Hui, COO of Time and Space Electric, the input cost of each power station is between 150 yuan and 5.4 million, and each power station can serve 200 cars.

With the high-frequency demand of network car (usually need to change electricity once a day), a large city can achieve profitability by investing 1,000 new energy vehicles, while small and medium-sized cities can achieve profitability by investing 400-500 vehicles.

It is understood that at present, Space-Time Electric has invested and operated 23 power stations in Hangzhou, and has put in more than 2,000 electric vehicles of various brands. At present, this model has been replicated in more than ten cities such as Suzhou, Changsha and Chengdu.

"The power exchange mode itself is in the field of pure technology, and there is no principled problem. At present, the main problem lies in the improvement of engineering and the establishment of business model in practice. There is still a lot of room for improvement, including constantly optimizing the Pack density, because it is charged by mileage; The higher the efficiency of power exchange, the lower the cost of sharing the station.
