Foreign Minister Qin Gang： Serving a few countries and minorities is not modernization.

　　CCTV News:The first session of the 14th National People’s Congress held a press conference in the multi-function hall of Media Center on the morning of March 7th, inviting Foreign Minister Qin Gang to answer questions from Chinese and foreign journalists on "China’s foreign policy and foreign relations".

　　At the press conference, a reporter asked: I had the opportunity to interview the Twentieth National Congress in China last year. I was deeply impressed by the concept of Chinese modernization in the original report, and I learned that many people have similar ideas with me. We believe that Chinese-style modernization has provided a new path for the modernization of all countries in the world. Therefore, it can give some enlightenment to all countries, especially developing countries. As China’s foreign minister, what do you think of the significance of Chinese modernization to the world?

　　Foreign Minister Qin Gang responded that Chinese modernization has become a hot word in the international community. A country with a population of more than 1.4 billion has stepped into modernization as a whole, which will be an unprecedented feat in human history and of great world significance.

　　Qin Gang said that Chinese-style modernization has solved many problems in the development of human society, broken the myth of "modernization = westernization", created a new form of human civilization, and brought important enlightenment to all countries in the world, especially developing countries, at least in five aspects:

　　One is independence. Chinese-style modernization works because it is based on China, rooted in China culture and conforms to the reality of China. The successful development of China fully proves that all countries have the right and the ability to choose their own path and hold their destiny firmly in their own hands.

　　Second, the people are supreme. Chinese-style modernization is the modernization of common prosperity for all people, which makes people not only materially rich, but also spiritually rich. Serving a few countries and a few people is not modernization, the richer the rich are, the poorer the poor are, nor is it modernization. People of all countries should have the right to equal development and pursue happiness.

　　The third is peaceful development. Chinese-style modernization does not rely on war, colonization and plunder. We insist on peace, development, cooperation and win-win, and insist on harmonious coexistence between man and nature. This is a brand-new road different from western-style modernization.

　　The fourth is openness and tolerance. The modernization of human beings should not be narcissistic, but should let a hundred flowers blossom, respect all countries to follow the development path in line with their own national conditions, exchange and learn from each other, bloom brilliantly, and share beauty and beauty.

　　The fifth is unity and struggle. The successful experience of China’s development fully proves that there is no hope in fragmented sand, and only unity and struggle can bring strength. We must insist that the castle peak will not relax and draw a blueprint to the end. If, as in some countries, political parties are in dispute, they just talk but don’t do it, and they are constantly changing, no matter how good the blueprint is, it is just drawing cakes to satisfy hunger and building castles in the air.

　　The process of Chinese-style modernization is the strength of world peace, justice and progress. We hope and believe that more and more countries in the world have embarked on the road of modernization, making the dream of a community of human destiny a reality.
